This is a nationally recognised Award presented to organisations who demonstrate good practice in relation to their volunteers. As volunteers are so important to many organisations, including Starter Packs it is vital to ensure that they are well looked after in every aspect of their work. This includes having the correct policies and procedures in place regarding their safety whilst volunteering, providing suitable working conditions in which to carry out their volunteering role and making sure they are formally and informally encouraged and appreciated for the hours they give to the organisation.

Little more about us
The Churches of all denominations collaborate with Dundee Stater Packs by collecting good quality unwanted household goods, bed linen and curtains from their congregations. There is a volunteer contact in each participating church who promotes the aim of Starter Packs and collects goods on our behalf. We also receive donations from members of the public on a regular basis either directly to our office or through one of our donation points in local community centers. Our supporters and volunteers helps us to collect the donations and as well with our fund raising events.
Supporting Local People
We hope our help will enable people to make a house a home, sustain their tenancies and rebuild their lives. Some of the referrals are for young people leaving the care system having been given their first tenancy, some are from families that have separated or have had to leave quickly and have few belongings. Some are living in very poor conditions but have no funds to provide themselves with replacement items. We continue to receive many requests for our help. Presently starter packs are being issued at an average rate of 15 per week. Providing for over 850 adults and children in the past year.
